Help & FAQs

    Answers to Every Question

Everything you need to know about LiftSignals — before you start, while you're evaluating, and after you're a customer.

    Getting Started

    8 questions

For Shopify and WooCommerce — 8 minutes. You connect your store, authorize the data sync, and your first intelligence outputs begin generating immediately. By the time you've explored the dashboard, your first RFM segments and CLV scores are already populating.

For other platforms (BigCommerce, Square, Magento, etc.), setup is equally fast — typically under 10 minutes. Enterprise plans include a dedicated onboarding engineer for complex environments involving Snowflake, BigQuery, or custom data pipelines.

No. LiftSignals is built for operators, not engineers. There are no APIs to configure, no code to write, and no CSV files to clean and upload (though CSV import is available if you prefer it). The setup flow walks you through connecting your store with guided authorization — the same process as connecting any third-party app through your platform's app marketplace.

If you can log into your Shopify or WooCommerce admin, you can set up LiftSignals.

Within minutes of connecting, LiftSignals begins processing your historical order data. Here's what gets generated on day one:

    • RFM Segmentation — all customers scored and segmented (Champions, Loyal, At Risk, Lost, etc.) • Customer Lifetime Value — predicted CLV for every customer, grouped into tiers • Churn Detection — at-risk customers flagged with disengagement signals • 30-day Sales Forecast — first revenue projection based on your active customer base

The remaining modules populate over the following 24–48 hours as the models complete their analysis. All 12 are running simultaneously from day one — some just require more historical data to produce meaningful outputs.

The models become more accurate with more history, but you'll see meaningful outputs from day one with as little as 6 months of order history. Here's a rough guide:

    • 3–6 months: RFM segmentation, basic CLV, Discount Sensitivity, and Zip Code Analysis are all useful • 6–12 months: Churn Detection, Propensity to Buy, and Next Purchase Prediction reach full accuracy • 12+ months: Cohort Analysis, Sales Forecasting (90 and 365-day), and Market Basket Analysis reach maximum accuracy

If your store is newer than 6 months, start the trial — you'll still get value from the data you have, and the models improve automatically as new orders arrive.

Yes. You can connect multiple data sources and LiftSignals will unify the customer records across them — matching customers by email address where possible. This gives you a single customer view across all channels.

Note: the current Starter plan supports one connected store. The Growth plan supports multiple connected sources. Contact sales if you have a complex multi-channel setup.

LiftSignals handles standard data quality issues automatically:

    • Duplicate customer records are merged based on email address • Orders without customer emails are processed but excluded from email-based behavioral analysis • Refunded or cancelled orders are excluded from revenue calculations by default (configurable) • Test orders from development environments should be excluded before connecting — we provide a guide for this in the onboarding flow

If you have specific data quality concerns, email support@liftsignals.com before connecting and we can advise.

Yes — all plans (Starter, Growth, and Agency) include a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to start. You get full access to all features in your plan tier from day one of the trial.

At the end of 14 days, you'll be prompted to enter payment information to continue. If you don't, your account is suspended and your data retained for 30 days before permanent deletion. You can reactivate within that window without losing anything.

We recommend this sequence for getting the most out of your 14 days:

Day 0 (before you connect): Write down the three marketing decisions your team is currently debating or has been putting off — campaigns you haven't launched, segments you haven't targeted, channels you're unsure about. Don't look them up yet. After your first AI Insights brief arrives (your first Monday after setup), check whether any of them got answered — and with what level of evidence. That comparison is the fastest way to feel what LiftSignals changes about how your team makes decisions.

    1. Day 1: Connect your store and let the models run. Don't do anything else yet. 2. Day 2: Review your RFM segments — specifically your Champions count and your At-Risk revenue figure. 3. Day 3–5: Run your first targeted export — take your Champions segment and load it into Klaviyo or Meta as a VIP audience. 4. Day 6–10: Check your CLV tiers and Discount Sensitivity profiles. Look for full-price buyers you've been sending discounts to. 5. Day 11–14: Review your 30-day revenue forecast and compare it to what you were expecting.

If at any point you're stuck or want a walkthrough, email support@liftsignals.com — we do live product walkthroughs during trials.

A customer is any unique customer record with at least one order in your connected store data. Duplicate records are automatically merged, so you're counted on unique individuals, not raw database rows.

Customers without email addresses (e.g., guest checkouts with no email captured) count toward your limit but have reduced intelligence output since email-based behavioral signals aren't available for them.

If you're close to your plan's customer limit, you'll receive an in-app notification at 80% and 95% capacity. Reaching the limit doesn't cut off access — it triggers a plan upgrade prompt.

Yes, at any time from your account settings.

Upgrades take effect immediately. You're charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing cycle — so if you upgrade halfway through the month, you pay half the difference.

Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. If you downgrade from Growth to Starter, you'll retain access to Growth features until the cycle ends. After that, modules not included in Starter will be hidden but your data is retained — if you upgrade again within 30 days, nothing is lost.

Yes — annual billing is available at a 15% discount on all plans. Switching from monthly to annual is available at any time from your billing settings. The discount is applied to your next billing cycle.

Annual plans are billed upfront for the full year. Refunds on annual plans are prorated for the unused months if you cancel.

Yes. We offer special pricing for:

    • Nonprofits — contact sales@liftsignals.com with your organization's details • Brands under $500K annual revenue — contact us about a reduced Starter rate • Accelerator and incubator cohorts — we partner with select programs; ask your program manager if LiftSignals is available as a benefit

None. All plans are fully self-serve with no setup fee. Enterprise plans include a dedicated onboarding engineer at no additional cost — that's included in your Enterprise subscription.

Your data remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation — you can export everything from your account settings (CSV and JSON formats available). After 30 days, your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted. We don't archive cancelled customer data.

If you reactivate within the 30-day window, your data and settings are fully restored.

Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable for the current billing cycle. Annual subscriptions are refundable on a prorated basis for unused months if you cancel — contact billing@liftsignals.com.

If you experience a significant service outage (>4 hours of downtime in a billing cycle), contact support for a prorated credit.

Starter includes a strong foundation: RFM Segmentation, CLV, Churn Detection, Cohort Analysis, Discount Sensitivity, Reactivation Scoring, ZIP Code Analysis, and 30/90/365-day Sales Forecasting.

Growth adds the predictive layer: Propensity to Buy (who's likely to purchase in the next 30 days), Next Purchase Prediction (when each customer will buy next), Market Basket Analysis (which products to recommend together), and CAC & ROAS Analysis (true return on ad spend by channel). It also adds Audience Exports — pushing segments directly to Meta, Google, Klaviyo, and other tools.

For brands actively running paid campaigns and email marketing, Growth's Propensity and Audience Export features typically pay for themselves within the first campaign cycle.

Yes — AI Insights are included on all paid plans. The volume and depth scale with tier:

The difference in volume between Starter and Growth reflects the number of models feeding the AI synthesis layer. Growth includes all 12 models — Propensity to Buy, Market Basket Analysis, Next Purchase Prediction, and CAC & ROAS Analysis in addition to Starter's 8 — which gives the AI more signals to work from and produces more precise, actionable recommendations.

AI Insights are not available on the free trial in advance of your first paid billing cycle — your first brief arrives on the Monday after your trial converts to a paid plan.

    Integrations

    6 questions

E-commerce platforms: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Square, Lightspeed, Amazon Seller Central, Etsy, Magento

    Payment processors: Stripe, PayPal

Manual / custom: CSV upload (any spreadsheet with order history), Google Sheets (live connection), REST API (Enterprise)

Coming soon: Salesforce, HubSpot, bi-directional Klaviyo sync

If your platform isn't listed, CSV upload works for any store — you'll need order history with customer email, order date, order value, and product SKU columns.

LiftSignals connects to Shopify via the official Shopify Partner API. During setup, you'll authorize LiftSignals through the standard Shopify app authorization flow — the same process as installing any Shopify app. No code changes to your store are required.

LiftSignals requests read-only access to orders, customers, and products. We do not request write access — we cannot modify your store data. The initial sync pulls your full order history; subsequent syncs run every 24 hours to pick up new orders.

WooCommerce connects via the WooCommerce REST API. During setup, you'll generate an API key from your WooCommerce settings (WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API) and paste it into LiftSignals. The setup guide walks through this step by step.

LiftSignals uses read-only API keys — we cannot modify your WooCommerce data.

The Starter plan supports one connected store. The Growth plan supports multiple connected sources and will unify customer records across them. The Agency plan supports up to 5 separate client workspaces, each with their own connected store.

For brands with truly complex multi-source environments (e.g., Shopify + Amazon + wholesale), Enterprise plans include custom connector work.

    LiftSignals requests read-only access to:

    • Customer records: name, email address, created date • Order data: order ID, customer ID, order date, line items (product, SKU, quantity, price), discount codes used, shipping address (zip code and country) • Product data: product names and categories (for Market Basket Analysis and recommendations)

LiftSignals does not access: passwords, payment card data, private customer notes, or any data outside the categories above.

Klaviyo bi-directional sync is on our near-term roadmap. Currently, Growth and Agency plans can export segments to Klaviyo as a one-way push (LiftSignals → Klaviyo). Bi-directional sync — which will allow Klaviyo email engagement data (opens, clicks, unsubscribes) to flow back into LiftSignals and sharpen the Churn Detection and Propensity models — is expected in a future release.

    Intelligence Modules

    10 questions

The 12 intelligence models each answer a specific question about your customers — who's at risk of churning, who's likely to buy next week, which products are bought together, what each customer's lifetime value is, and so on. Every model's output is correct and valuable on its own.

AI-Powered Recommendations is the synthesis layer above all 12. Every Monday, LiftSignals AI reads all 12 model outputs simultaneously for your store and produces a single prioritized brief: your five highest-impact marketing actions for the week, ranked by estimated revenue potential.

The distinction matters: the models tell you what your data says. The AI tells you what to do about it — and in what order. Without prioritization, a team with 12 correct insights will typically act on one or two based on familiarity, not revenue impact. The AI resolves that every week, automatically.

AI Insights are included in all paid plans:

Starter ($499/mo): 5 recommendations per week, drawn from 8 active models

Growth ($799/mo): 10 recommendations per week, drawn from all 12 models

Agency ($2,499/mo): 10 recommendations per workspace, with white-labeled PDF export

Each weekly brief contains five prioritized action items, delivered every Monday morning. Each item includes:

A clear action: e.g., "Launch win-back sequence for At-Risk segment"

The rationale from your data: e.g., "1,892 customers showing disengagement signals, 30–90 day intervention window open"

The source models: e.g., "Based on: Churn Detection, RFM Segmentation, Next Purchase Prediction"

    Estimated revenue impact: e.g., "$48,106 at-risk revenue"

A direct export link: one click pushes the relevant customer segment to Klaviyo, Meta, or Google

Actions are ranked 01–05 by revenue impact. Item 01 is always the highest-potential action for your specific store that week. The brief refreshes every Monday based on the prior week's model outputs and your store's current customer state.

The AI Insights brief is accessible from your main dashboard under the Insights tab. On Agency plans, briefs can be exported as white-labeled PDFs for client reporting.

LiftSignals runs 12 AI-powered models simultaneously across your customer data:

Know your customers: 1. RFM Segmentation — Score every customer by Recency, Frequency, and Monetary value 2. Customer Lifetime Value — Predict total future revenue per customer 3. Discount Sensitivity — Classify discount behavior into 5 profiles 4. Cohort Analysis — Track retention and revenue by acquisition month

Predict what's next: 5. Churn Detection — Flag disengagement 30–90 days before departure 6. Propensity to Buy — Score purchase probability (0–100) for every customer 7. Next Purchase Prediction — Predict each customer's buy timing 8. Sales Forecasting — 30, 90, and 365-day revenue projections

Act with precision: 9. Market Basket Analysis — Discover co-purchase patterns and bundle opportunities 10. Reactivation Scoring — Rank lapsed customers by win-back potential 11. Zip Code Analysis — Map revenue and CLV by geography 12. CAC & ROAS Analysis — Calculate true acquisition cost and return by channel

All 12 are included at different plan tiers. See Plans & Pricing for details.

Above the 12 models sits a separate synthesis layer: AI-Powered Recommendations. Every week, LiftSignals AI reads the output of all 12 intelligence models simultaneously and delivers a prioritized brief — your five highest-impact marketing actions for the week, ranked by estimated revenue potential. This is not a 13th model. It's the intelligence layer that tells you what to do with the other 12. AI Insights are included on all plans: 5 recommendations/week on Starter, 10/week on Growth and Agency.

Based on retrospective validation across our customer base:

    • 30-day Sales Forecast: ±4.2% average accuracy vs. actuals • Churn Detection: Flags at-risk customers 30–90 days before churn in 78% of cases • CLV Prediction: Within 15% of actual 12-month revenue for customers with 6+ months of history • Propensity to Buy: Top-decile customers convert at 11.4% vs. 0.8% for the bottom decile — a 14× separation

Accuracy improves with more historical data. Models with less than 6 months of history are labeled "Early stage — accuracy improving" in the dashboard.

AI Recommendations accuracy: The AI Insights brief becomes more precise as LiftSignals accumulates history on your store. Stores with 6+ months of data report an average 34% improvement in recommendation accuracy vs. day one, as the models develop richer behavioral pattern libraries to draw from.

All models recalculate every 24 hours as new orders arrive. This means:

    • A customer who purchases today moves from At-Risk to Loyal overnight • A customer who starts browsing heavily moves up in Propensity score by the next morning • Your 30-day revenue forecast updates to reflect yesterday's order volume

Some models (Cohort Analysis, CAC & ROAS) update monthly when the relevant data period closes, which produces cleaner measurements.

RFM stands for Recency (when did they last buy?), Frequency (how often do they buy?), and Monetary (how much do they spend?). LiftSignals combines these three scores into 10 segments.

For most stores, the highest-impact starting points are:

    1. Champions — your best customers. Export them as a VIP audience immediately. They respond to exclusivity, not discounts. 2. At Risk — customers who used to be active and are now drifting. Run a win-back sequence before they become Lost. 3. Lost — suppress them from paid retargeting immediately. You'll recover significant ad budget.

A full breakdown of all 10 segments and recommended actions is on the RFM Segmentation module page.

Yes — on Growth and Agency plans. Segments can be exported to:

    • Email platforms: Klaviyo, Mailchimp (and any platform accepting CSV import) • Ad platforms: Meta Ads, Google Ads • CRM: CSV export for any CRM

One-click export is available from each segment view. Automated recurring exports (e.g., refresh your Meta At-Risk audience every week automatically) are available on Agency plans.

With 8 months of history, you'll get strong value from:

    • RFM Segmentation — fully functional • Customer Lifetime Value — directional, improves with time • Churn Detection — functional from 6 months+ • Discount Sensitivity — fully functional • Zip Code Analysis — fully functional • Sales Forecasting (30-day) — good accuracy; 90 and 365-day improve with more history

The models that benefit most from 12+ months of history are Cohort Analysis, Market Basket Analysis, and the longer Sales Forecast horizons.

Shopify Analytics and Google Analytics tell you what happened — revenue, sessions, conversion rate. LiftSignals tells you what to do next — for each individual customer.

    Specifically:

    • Shopify Analytics doesn't tell you which customers are about to churn, what each customer's lifetime value is, or which customers need a discount vs. which ones would have paid full price • Google Analytics doesn't have customer-level data — it works on sessions and aggregates, not on individual purchase histories • LiftSignals works at the individual customer level, combining purchase history, behavioral patterns, and predictive modeling to give you actionable intelligence per customer • AI-powered weekly recommendations — Neither Shopify Analytics nor Google Analytics has a recommendation engine. LiftSignals AI synthesizes all 12 models each week and produces a ranked brief of your five highest-impact actions. That synthesis layer — which reads your churn scores, CLV tiers, propensity signals, and cohort trends simultaneously and tells you what to prioritize — doesn't exist anywhere else in the SMB e-commerce analytics space.

They're complementary tools — not competitors. Most LiftSignals customers use all three.

Yes — on Growth and Agency plans. You can push the At-Risk segment to Klaviyo as a list or segment, and Klaviyo's automation flows will trigger for anyone added to that list. Since LiftSignals refreshes segments every 24 hours, new at-risk customers are added to the Klaviyo list daily — and your flows fire automatically.

Full event-triggered automation (where LiftSignals pushes an event directly to Klaviyo or a webhook when a specific score threshold is crossed) is on the roadmap. Contact sales if this is a requirement — it's available as a custom configuration on Enterprise.

Your weekly AI Insights brief also surfaces the five highest-priority actions directly — each with a link to the relevant segment export. When the AI recommends "launch a win-back sequence for your At-Risk segment," the export button is right there in the brief. The brief and the export flow are designed to work together so that the time from recommendation to campaign launch is measured in minutes, not days.

    Agency

    5 questions

The Agency plan ($2,499/mo) gives you up to 5 separate client workspaces under one account. Each workspace is completely isolated — one client cannot see another client's data. You manage all workspaces from a single agency dashboard.

Key agency features: • White-labeled PDF reports — export any intelligence report with your agency's branding • Cross-client benchmarking — see how your clients' retention and CLV compare against each other • Dedicated priority support — faster response times and a named account manager • Agency onboarding kit — training materials you can share with clients

Yes. Each client workspace can have its own login. You control whether the client sees the LiftSignals branding or your agency's branding. White-label mode shows your agency name and logo throughout the interface.

You can also restrict what clients can see — for example, showing them their RFM and CLV dashboards without exposing the underlying model settings or other client workspaces.

From your agency dashboard: Workspaces → Add New Workspace → enter client details and connect their store. The onboarding flow for each client workspace is the same as a standard LiftSignals setup — 8 minutes per client.

If you need more than 5 workspaces, contact sales@liftsignals.com. Additional workspace packs are available on custom pricing.

Yes. Intelligence outputs are exportable in CSV and JSON formats from any workspace. You can pull data into your own reporting tools (Google Data Studio, Looker, Excel, etc.) to build custom client reports.

The white-labeled PDF export within LiftSignals is the fastest path for standard monthly reporting — it generates a formatted report with your branding, covering all 12 module summaries, with one click.

We're building a formal reseller program. In the meantime, agencies that refer clients to LiftSignals can receive account credits — contact partnerships@liftsignals.com to discuss arrangements. Agencies with 3+ client accounts on LiftSignals are eligible for custom pricing on additional workspaces.
