Connecting your Shopify store
Overview
Connecting your Shopify store takes under 2 minutes using OAuth. LiftSignals requests read-only access — we can never modify your store, place orders, or access payment details.
Before you start: You must be logged into Shopify as the store Owner. Admin and Staff accounts cannot authorise app installations on most Shopify plans.
Steps
1
Go to Settings → Integrations
In the LiftSignals sidebar, click Settings, then select Integrations from the left menu.
2
Click "Connect" next to Shopify
You'll be redirected to Shopify's permission screen. This is the standard Shopify OAuth flow — LiftSignals is listed as the requesting app.
3
Review and approve permissions
Shopify will show you the permissions LiftSignals is requesting: Read orders, Read customers, Read products. Click Install to approve.
4
You're redirected back to LiftSignals
After approving, Shopify redirects you back and LiftSignals confirms the connection. Data sync starts automatically.
5
Wait for the initial sync
Depending on your store size, the first sync takes 1–4 hours. You'll receive an email when sync completes and models finish training.
What LiftSignals accesses
| Data type | What we read | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Orders | Order dates, amounts, line items, fulfilment status | Power the churn, CLV, and repurchase models |
| Customers | Email, name, creation date, tags | Customer identification and segmentation |
| Products | Product names, categories, prices | Category affinity and propensity scoring |
What LiftSignals does NOT access
- Payment methods or card details
- Login credentials or passwords
- Admin settings or store configuration
- Draft orders or private listings
- Staff accounts or permissions
Revoking access
You can disconnect LiftSignals at any time from Shopify Admin → Apps or from LiftSignals Settings → Integrations → Shopify → Disconnect. Disconnecting stops future syncs but does not delete your existing LiftSignals data.
Shopify Plus stores: If your store uses a custom domain, enter the domain exactly as it appears in your Shopify admin URL (e.g.,
mystore.myshopify.com, not your public domain). Was this article helpful?
